About the journal

This journal will be published by SAGE from 2015 - find out more

Research in Comparative and International Education (RCIE) is a peer-reviewed international journal, edited by Professor David Phillips of the University of Oxford, assisted by an Editorial Board and an International Advisory Board of international scholars with a wide range of expertise in comparative and international studies.

RCIE is concerned with research and its methods. It seeks to publish papers of between 5,000 and 10,000 words which report new research in the field of comparative and international education, broadly defined, or which address theoretical and methodological issues in comparative and international education with clear research relevance. Illustrations (including colour) are encouraged. Largely descriptive or solely policy-based papers are unlikely to be accepted for publication. All papers are blind-refereed by members of the International Advisory Board and others.

Those wishing to submit an article for consideration should first read How to contribute.

Articles are:
only available online
 independently (anonymously) peer-reviewed

Research in Comparative and International Education (ISSN 1745-4999) is an online-only journal published four times a year at www.wwwords.co.uk/RCIE, those four issues constituting one volume. Articles are conventionally typeset and appear as familiar journal articles; proofs are sent to the authors as PDF files; the only real difference is that articles are only available for viewing online (and can then also be saved as files and printed).

Please note that campus-wide access by institutional libraries is only available by paid subscription via the major subscription agents, or directly with the publishers.
